 The Honor System

A most wondrous thing has occurred. Amazon.com has come up with another innovative idea - help free sites generate income.

They've created the Honor System to provide a way for sites that don't sell anything (and so, do not have merchant accounts) to be able to receive voluntary contributions from visitors, members and users who like the site enough to want to keep it alive.

If you have a website, you know how much time you have put into making it a quality place to come, even if it's just a hobby, a family site, your club or whatever. And you're the one who's probably footing the bill to maintain it, even though a great many people benefit from it. (Especially non-profit or professional organization sites - they're usually maintained by volunteers.)

This is a great way to get people to help you defray the costs - or family members to chip in and share your financial burden. Just about anyone can qualify (as long as they're not porno sites, or the usual unpleasant exclusions). So you might want to consider adding your site to the Honor System. You can join, using the link in the right column of this page - and start earning money.

And the especially great thing about it is - this month, Amazon.com will be doing a major publicity campaign to launch the Honor System and explain how it works. They will be starting with a Tax Center, featuring, you guessed it - TaxMama.com

I can't tell you how excited I was to be included. And, naturally, wanting to take great advantage of this opportunity to help one of my pet projects, I arranged my page to include A.N.G.E.L.S. Day a non-profit organization enabling Seniors to afford to keep their pets. They will get half the money you give TaxMama.

If you see the little Goal Chart on the right - I've set a target that would make it possible for Linda to be able to get a facility and a place to keep some of the pets. This year. Next year, I'd like to raise enough money to get her a full-time salary, so she can afford to spend her time raising money and taking care of her seniors, pets and help people in other areas open chapters.

You can use that tool to set the same kind of goals for your own site. And given this opportunity, I'd really recommend that you include your own favorite charity to help with the money people donate to you!

Humbly yours,
Eva Rosenberg,
Your TaxMama
