» From: Westminster, CA Dear TaxMama, I had 2 questions... I was wondering about the details, if there are any about the tax relief refund of 2001 ... more or less, what do we need to do and are we really going to be getting a check in the mail?? Also, when having child care for a young child, is it better for tax purposes to go with a private in-home day care or a facility? Thanks for your time tax mama, and by the way, love your site ;) Willa Dear Willa, Thanks for the compliment. There are at least three reports about the rebates on this page. You'll find the dates the checks will be issued for your Social Security number there. When it comes to caring for children ... don't look at tax considerations first. Look at your child's welfare. If you can find a great child care facility - go for it. If you can find someone who'll do a better job in your home - and you can afford it, do it at home. Granted, it is more complicated to have in-home care. But let's make it easier for you ... there is a site, NannyTax.com, where they will take care of filing all the right forms for you and your child care provider. You adore your children, remember to put them first - not Uncle Sam. Best wishes Eva Rosenberg Your TaxMama Click Here for TaxMama's Honor System |
