Dear TaxMama:

I am treasurer for a PTA and have been doing my own taxes with Turbotax for years.

Do you know of any tax software that can be used by a non profit to complete form 990?

Your answer is much appreciated.

Mary

Hi Mary,

Actually, if you don't mind doing the calculations yourself, you can use IRS's Fill-In Forms.

You'll find the 990 among them. Just fill in the form on the screen and print it out. It's free. That's what I use for the 2-3 I do each year.

Here's one of the less expensive software tools I know of, from SaberBiz, that does 990s. But it's still not inexpensive.

I am considering buying their total package.

You might also look at CFS's fill and print. It does calculations. But I am not sure which forms are included.

I am not familiar with any stand-alone software package.

Best wishes,
