Dear TaxMama:

I was interested in hiring you to help with my taxes since the first year that my business has been operating is slowly drawing to a close.

I am an LLC that I would guess brought in only around $3,000 this year (this is a freelance business that is comprised only of myself that I run in the evenings after getting off from my 8-5 day job).

I only have experience filing my personal taxes and don't really know what I'm doing too well.

How much do you generally think this would cost?

Thanks!

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you so very much for the vote of confidence.

I suspect that you can find good tax professionals right in your area. Much cheaper, too.

TaxMama.com really was set up to offer free advice - not to get me new clients. I know that may come as a shock, but I am not looking for more work,

You can undoubtedly find someone excellent in the NAEA directory by simply entering your ZIP code.

And you'll find links to CPAs and Attorneys here.

Even though you only earned $3,000, there is as much work involved in doing a tax return with just a little income, as there is in doing a return with a great deal of income. Sometimes, there's even a bit more involved.

Expect to pay anywhere from $250 to $500 and up for a corporate return. In fact, as long as you're sitting down with a Tax Pro, have them spend an extra hour with you to guide you through your corporate operations and bookkeeping.

Best wishes,

Eva Rosenberg
