Yes folks, we are in the Tax-Free Season!

Several people have been kind enough to send notes about tax-free days. Just as I was about to research the rest...the resource was dropped into my lap by my buddy Al Tompkins at Poynter.org

In general, the sales taxes are waived on back to school clothing, supplies, and sometimes even computers.

DC, WASHINGTON: August 2006 - they haven't set a date yet.

FLORIDA: July 22-30, 2005

GEORGIA: August 3 - 6, 2006

IOWA: August 4-5, 2006

MARYLAND: August 23-27, 2006 - NEW

MASSACHUSETTS: Cancelled - none in 2006

MISSOURI: Aug. 4-6, 2006

NEW MEXICO: Aug 4-6, 2006

NORTH CAROLINA: Aug. 4-6, 2006

SOUTH CAROLINA: Aug. 4-6, 2006

TENNESSEE: Aug. 4-6, 2006 - NEW

TEXAS: Aug. 4-6, 2006

VIRGINIA: Aug. 4-6, 2006 - NEW (no website available)
