TaxMama's Secrets

Patent or Trademark

From: Largo, FL

Dear TaxMama,

I am starting a small business and I'm going to create a logo and put it on all the things associated with the business.

The question is, I want to protect my logo from another business's use, so do I patent or trademark the logo?

Thanks, Brenden

Hi Brenden

Logos are trademarked. Or copyrighted, by the artist - so make SURE you have clear title to your logo art.

Patents are for inventions.

Best wishes,
